Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
