A female charged with harassing Kate McCann reportedly left her a recorded message which questioned: "what if I am Madeleine?"

On Monday, the court heard call records and evidence recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most covered missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another voicemail, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I'm her? Then what? Is that not important for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a life here in Poland, I just want to understand," she added.

The panel was informed that via emails, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a effort to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who compiled the data, told the court there "didn't appear to be any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with close associates of the McCanns, according to the call data.

On that date, Mr McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court heard Mrs Spragg established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in December 2024.

Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out using messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the months before the trip to the village, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court learned message exchanges between the two defendants, in that autumn, considering endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We need to take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their house, the defendant transmitted a text which expressed: "We are sitting near the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark like investigators. I wanted to achieve this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
